Terms & Conditions

By using DevAegis you agree to these terms. Read them - they're written in plain English, not legalese.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, installing the DevAegis CLI, or using any part of the DevAegis platform (including the web app at app.devaegis.com, the API, the runtime SDK, or CLI), you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.

If you are using DevAegis on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. What DevAegis Is

DevAegis is a SaaS platform built for developers and agencies. It provides two core services:

  • Aegis (Code Protection): AES-256 encrypted code delivery with runtime payment enforcement. Your client-facing deployments are locked behind payment status.
  • Business Suite: A CRM for managing clients, projects, invoices, tasks, recurring billing, and team members.

DevAegis provides tools. What you build and how you use them is your responsibility.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, current information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. DevAegis is not liable for losses caused by unauthorized account access resulting from your failure to secure your credentials.

One account per person or organization. Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits. We reserve the right to terminate duplicate accounts.

4. Plans, Billing & Payments

Subscription Plans

DevAegis offers Free, Freelancer ($4.99/mo), Agency ($49.99/mo), and Scale ($199/mo) plans. Feature availability is determined by your active plan. Plan details are subject to change with 30 days notice.

Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly via DodoPayments. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges. All prices are in USD. Taxes may apply based on your location.

Refunds

We offer a 7-day free trial on paid plans - no card required. After trial or first charge, refunds are evaluated case-by-case. If you experience a technical failure caused by our platform, contact support within 7 days.

Cancellation

Cancel any time from your billing settings. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. Cancellation does not trigger a prorated refund.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use DevAegis to:

  • Deploy malware, spyware, ransomware, or any malicious code to your clients
  • Circumvent or reverse-engineer the Aegis encryption or key derivation system
  • Abuse the API - rate limits exist; don't flood our servers
  • Resell raw API access without building a product on top of it
  • Use the platform for illegal activity under applicable law
  • Impersonate DevAegis or WebEpex in client-facing communications

Violation of acceptable use may result in immediate account termination without refund.

6. Aegis Code Protection - Specific Terms

The Aegis protection system encrypts your code before delivery. The encryption key is derived server-side and is tied to your project's payment status. You understand and accept that:

  • You are responsible for ensuring your use of Aegis is disclosed to your clients as part of your engagement contract.
  • DevAegis is a tool that enforces your agreed payment terms - it does not replace a proper client contract.
  • If your SERVER_KEY_SALT changes, all encrypted projects will lose their decryption keys. Protect this value.
  • DevAegis is not responsible for business disputes between you and your clients.

7. Intellectual Property

DevAegis owns the platform, its code, brand, and all associated IP. You own your code, client data, and business data stored within the platform.

By uploading or processing code through DevAegis, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that data solely to provide the service. We do not store your unencrypted source code.

8. Uptime & Availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee it. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance. DevAegis is not liable for losses caused by downtime, including lost client access or payment delays.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DevAegis and WebEpex shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform - including lost revenue, lost clients, or data loss.

Our total liability for direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraud, or pose a risk to other users or the platform. You may terminate your account at any time.

On termination, your data is retained for 30 days (for recovery purposes) then deleted, unless legal obligations require otherwise.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. Significant changes will be communicated via email to your registered address. Continued use of DevAegis after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of India, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
